Cards

Not sure why, but I really like making birthday cards. I usually leave them to the last possible second, but there's something kind of fun about that.

Here's a drawing I did not long ago. Tried to keep it simple cartoony style.

Coloured.

I don't draw girls. I should try to do more.

The Departed

My good friend Adam B Metal has been cranking away on his solo project 'The Departed' for a while now and pretty much every step of the way I have been making art for it.

Recently we made a shirt together for his first couple of gigs and I was pretty happy with the way it came out.

Here's a few pics of the process.

This was a photo of Adam's dog. I redrew it in Illustrator and added a heart in his mouth.

More detail, highlights.

First idea for layout. Added some blood too. Text was hand done with sloppy paint and a syringe. The design was too open, so it got the arse.

Adam was keen on the design being framed, so I drew in some antique looking floral action. Text got vectored.

Redrew and detailed the frame.

This is the final, added some grey to give it a bit more depth, and knocked it back to 3 colours for print.

Heres a photo of it all printed (on my dog, for no reason)! Done by the excellent AND printing of Melbourne.

The Departed will be featured in the upcoming action mmo APB and has free shit over on Bandcamp. Go get it. It's really good.

Skull duggering

I got a Wacom tablet not long ago and I've been slowly adapting to it. To get more accustomed to the way it works I have been using photos as reference, and trying to boil them down essentials with the Wacom.

Heres a skull I did.

And a wallpaper version in 4D (just like 3d, except it doesn't work) if you're so inclined.

Can make some custom wallpaper sizes if people want em.

Shark Week

So recently I went through a shark phase. All I wanted to draw was sharks. I dont know that's its over. I just need a good reason to do one up real nice. Here's some sketches.

You gotta start somewhere

Whelp, here it is. Maths and Science. A spot for me to chuck work and links to things I like. Let's start off slow.

A combo of sorts.

I recently found this great tute over on Vectips on making Grimy Text with a Pen Tablet. So here's what I made.

Gross text

Big version here.

Told you we were starting off slow.
